A taxi driver is currently admitted at the Suva hospital while two others were treated and sent home after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a head on collision.

Director Traffic, SSP Mahesh Mishra confirms the accident occurred at Nokonoko Road Laucala Beach this morning.

According to Mishra, a ten year old girl was in the private car while the taxi driver was alone in the taxi.

Police will take statements once both drivers recover.

Meanwhile five people are spending their Christmas in Police Custody after they were caught drinking and driving. Two are from Nausori while three are from the Western Division.

Mishra said despite warnings drivers are still not listening.

They will be produced in court at the first available date.
