The five men arrested with two plastic bag of white powder namely Contact-NT used to manufacture hard drugs like Cocaine and Heroin on Wednesday remain in custody at the CID Headquarters.
Assistant Spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita said they are now trying to establish where the white powder came from and what was it meant for.
Earlier police revealed that they are trying to establish whether the five locals are allegedly involved in a major drug racket.
The five were arrested at the premises of a shipping company yard in Edinburgh Drive when they went to collect the white powder.
The two plastic bags of white powder were discovered in a shipping container which came in from abroad.
Sergeant Tevita said the investigation is now focused on the group these people are linked with and whether they are using Fiji as a transit point for drugs.
Police also confiscated $10,000 cash from two of the five suspects.
