Five people are currently being questioned at the Nabua police station after they allegedly tried to rob a pay clerk this afternoon in Vatuwaqa.
Police PRO Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms that the pay clerk was returning from the bank with $20,000 in wages for the workers when upon reaching their destination a vehicle stopped behind them.
Sokomuri said the five wearing masks, were armed with assorted weapons including pinch bars, knives, broken beer bottle and rods and were about to attack the pay clerk when two vehicles from the Police Strike Back team arrived at the scene and surrounded the men.
They were apprehended with all the weapons.
