Five people have been seriously injured after a Locomotive collided with a bus near Labasa town at around 1.30 this afternoon.
Labasa Police confirm the Locomotive collided with the Bus at an intersection and is it believed that the driver of the locomotive failed to give a warning signal that it was approaching the intersection.
The locomotive was derailed in the collision and caught fire and the five passengers on board sustained injuries and have been taken to hospital.
Fire officials are at scene to monitor the locomotive. The passengers in the bus escaped injuries.
Police investigations continue.
