Three men and two secondary students appeared in the Suva High court today charged with two counts of murder and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Eparama Nume, Soroveli Qetaki, Apenisa Lino, Ratu Josua Mara and a juvenile are facing the charge of murder of Valelevu couple Ashok Cahnd andf Mohini Lata.

Lawyers of the accused today told High court Judge Justice Priyantha Fernando that their clients were allegedly assaulted when they were arrested by Police.

The court was told that the accused need medical checkups as they still have severe pains.

Justice Fernando then asked the accused persons as to why they did not file a complaint in relation to this.

The accused have been told to go to a doctor for a medical checkup.

They have been further remanded in custody.

The case has been adjourned to the 8th of the next month.
