Five former employees of the Divisional Engineer Central/Eastern Office will be questioned soon for allegations of defrauding the government of over $55,000.

Public Service Commission Chairman Rishi Ram confirms following the termination of the five, due to the seriousness of the offence, the matter has been referred to police for investigations.

Police confirm that a team will soon be assigned to carry out full investigations before criminal charges are expected to be laid against them.

The five pleaded guilty before the PSC Disciplinary Committee to colluding amongst themselves and fraudulently obtaining payments of $55,810 from the government between January to 26th March 2006 through orders to pay for grass cutting.
