5 charged with alleged murder plot
36 year old Nalini Devi, the wife of the former Mayor appeared with Ravikash Nand, Pranil Prasad, a radio announcer Imraan Hussein and Niko Biu-maiwasa in the Nasinu court, however no plea was taken.
Only Nalini Devi and Niko Biu-maiwasa's legal counsel appeared with them and the remaining three were instructed by the court to seek legal assistance.
Nalini's lawyer G.P. Lala is away overseas and she asked the court to adjourn the matter till 12th November.
The five were released on strict bail conditions and were told to surrender their travelling documents. The Magistrate warned them that the charges against them are serious and carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
It is alleged that the five plotted to kill the prominent bussinessman and former Mayor in September last year. Full disclouses will be served to the court on the next hearing.
The case has been adjourned till 22nd of next month.
