Australia’s Sevens Head Coach Andy Friend has freshened up his squad by making five changes for the Inaugural Vancouver Sevens this weekend.

In‑form playmaker Lewis Holland has been recalled into the squad while experienced playmaker James Stannard also returns to the fold.

Quade Cooper has been granted permission by his French Top 14 club side Toulon to play again this weekend at the sold‑out BC Place Stadium.

The injured players in the Australian side are Tom Lucas, Pat McCutcheon, Nick Malouf, Pama Fou, Simon Kennewell, Sam Figg and Tom Cusack.

Australia is in Pool B alongside Russia, Canada and Wales.

Meanwhile, Fiji will take on Samoa at 6.14am Sunday, they will then face Portugal at 9.50am before taking on Kenya at 2pm Sunday in the Vancouver 7s.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 7.08am next Monday, the semifinals will be at 11.08am Monday while the Cup final will be held at 2pm next Monday.
