Five officers from the Divisional Engineer Central/Eastern Office have been terminated by the Public Service Commission for defrauding the government off more than $55,000.
PSC Chairman Rishi Ram confirms to Village news that the five pleaded guilty to colluding amongst themselves and fraudulently obtained payment of $55,810 from the government between January to March 26th 2006.
Ram adds that in view of the seriousness of the offence the five were terminated.
