Five days on and Air Fiji is still tightlipped on the main reasons why the directive was issued to ground the planes last Saturday.
The Transport Workers Union which represents 130 workers out of
200 workers at Air Fiji has called on the Management, Shareholders and Board of directors to intervene and solve the problem so that the company runs efficiently. Union General Secretary, Kamlesh Kumar said he is concerned about the welfare of Air Fiji employees.
Meanwhile, Chief executive, Sialeni Vuetaki is still refusing to
reveal details of the problems faced by the company.
He said the reasons are beyond their control.
Vuetaki adds they have chartered planes to service their routes and many of their passengers have now agreed to fly with Pacific Sun. He said services are likely to normalise by Friday.
