A 44‑year‑old man has died after being involved in a tragic road accident just after 8pm last night.
Police say that the incident occurred along the Queens Road in Cuvu, Sigatoka when the vehicle he was driving in veered onto the opposite lane and hit an oncoming vehicle driven by a 38‑year‑old businessman of Sigatoka.
They were both rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital where the 44‑year‑old man passed away.
Meanwhile the 38‑year‑old businessman has been treated and sent home.
The road death toll currently stands at 40 compared to 51 for the same period last year.
