A 41 year old man is currently in police custody in Rotuma Island for allegedly raping two children last month.
The matter was reported to police yesterday where it is alleged that the 41 year old had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 6 and 4 year old on the 27th of last month.
The two children were playing inside the kitchen at time of the incident while the mother of the 6year old was doing some chores outside their home.
She then heard her daughter screaming and upon enquiring the daughter told her that her and the 4year old were allegedly sexually abused by the suspect.
The 41 year old is in Rotuma police custody for safety purpose till investigations are completed.
Meanwhile this incident makes it the 16th rape case for this year.
