Four newcomers have today been named in the 17 man New Zealand rugby sevens squad for the 2008 season.

They are, 25 year old fullback Kendrick Lynn of Southland, 22 year old midfielder Ben Nowell of Canterbury, 26 year old Chad Tuoro of Counties Manukau and 19 year old winger Nafi Tuitavake of North Harbour.

Coach Gordon Tietjeans said that all four players stood out at the 7's tournament in Queenstown this month and at last week's national trials.

Also retaining their places in the team are Fijian duo Lote Raikabula and Tomasi Cama Jnr.

Other big names in the side include IRB 7's player of the Year Afeleke Pelenise, Edwin Cocker, Nigel Hunt, Zar Lawrence, Tafai Ioasa and DJ Forbes.

New Zealand is in Pool A at the Wellington 7's, with defending champions Samoa, Canada and Papua New Guinea.
