Four players in the Drifters side to defend the Darwin 7s this weekend could force their way into the Digicel Fiji 7s team for the Wellington and San Diego 7s if they can impress Coach Waisale Serevi.
Veteran forward Lemeki Duidomo, prop Ponipate Kato, rover Niumaia Cakacaka and winger Watisoni Votu will have a chance to show their worth this weekend.
The Maestro is using the Darwin 7s to try and build on a combination for the next leg of the IRB 7s series and still has the services of captain Emosi Vucago, Lepani Nabuliwaqa, Vereniki Goneva and Jerry Burotu as the experienced players in the team.
In this weekend’s Darwin 7s the Drifters side will face other Fiji club like Red Rock, Davetalevu, Uprising and Global Samurai who are all vying for the $60,000 prize money.
