And in a repeat of the last Pacific Games, Mohammed Ramzan successfully lifted 467.5kg to claim gold for Fiji.

Fellow lifter, Lawrence Visanti followed suit and won gold in the 75kg.

In boxing, Fiji boxers Mitieli Laca-levu and Jale Ma'afu have punched their way into the semi-finals of the boxing competition in Samoa.
