A total of 38 suicides and 36 attempted suicide cases have been reported for the first four months of this year and serious concerns are now being raised about this extremely high number of cases.
Police Director Operations SSP Rusiate Tudravu said this is an alarming rate, especially when you consider many victims are between the ages of 17 to 20 and above 25 years.
Suicide cases for the same period last year totaled 14 while 48 attempted suicide cases were recorded.
