A 37 year old lay pastor of Kadavu has been further remanded in custody for the next seven days after Police Prosecutor Sergeant Leone Lautabui objected to his bail application.
The lay-pastor is charged with assault and intent to rape his wife's sister on the 2nd of this month between 1-2am on the island.
Sergeant Lautabui while objecting to bail said that the offence the accused allegedly committed is serious.
It is alleged that the 23 year old complainant was asleep in the same house when the accused allegedly assaulted her with the intention to rape her.
The lay- pastor's plea and review of the bail application will be heard on the 28th of this month.
