3,500 unemployed people have already registered with the National Employment Centre.
Labour Ministry's Acting Director for Labour Policy and Productivity, Vilimone Baledrokadroka said the National Employment Centre assists the unemployed through training with four areas of services of their choice, Self Employment, formal employment, foreign employment and Fiji volunteer services.
Baledrokadroka said the NEC is applicable to all industries in Fiji, under the NEC decree 2009
He said unemployed people who register with NEC will be sent on attachment with their choice of the industry.
The NEC aims to have 10,000 unemployed people annually and 5000 for the first half of the year.
