$34 million is being owed to the Water Authority of Fiji in overdue bills.

Corporate Communications Officer Joe Cava told Fijivillage that those also in arrears are Government Ministries.

According to Cava the authority has managed to collect close to $10 million in the first five months of this year.

He said they have worked out an arrangement where people who are facing financial constraints and they pay half the total amount owed up-front to get reconnected as well as $10 re-connection fee.

Cava added the agreement sees customers make fortnightly or monthly installment.
