A 30-year-old man who is charged with one count of aggravated robbery was produced in a special court sitting at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili has further remanded Sunia Doraqio in custody.
Doraqio's lawyer made an application for bail but the prosecution objected saying that it is an indictable offence, he has pending matters in court and he re-offended while he was on bail.
The prosecution also revealed that Doraqio has a previous record of escaping from the lawful custody.
The case has been transferred to High Court and will be called on 9th January for mention.
It is alleged that Doraqio was involved in Lotus Exchange robbery on the 16th of this month where a safe containing $60,000 and some foreign currencies were stolen.
He was arrested at a Suva hotel late this week.
