Upto 30 women and children are feared to have died when the MV Princess Ashika sank off the coast of Nuku'alofa in Tonga on Wednesday night.
Our correspondent in Tonga, Paul Takala spoke to one of the survivors pulled out from the raging seas after the Princess Ashika flipped onto its side due to huge waves before sinking.
Radio New Zealand reports that a total of 54 people have been rescued and 33 remain unaccounted for and the Police Chief Inspector said realistically they believe there were more passengers onboard than what the boats manifesto shows.
Tongan Prime Minister Feleti Sevele has also asked Australia and New Zealand to send in Navy divers to help recover the bodies.
