The National Fire Authority's fire fighting capabilities around the country will be increased following the inclusion of thirty new firefighter recruits who passed out yesterday.

They successfully completed their ten week intensive training course in Tailevu.

NFA CEO, Joseva Gavidi said these new recruits have come from very diverse educational vocational backgrounds which when combined with this basic firefighting skills programe will produce knowledgeable and skillful fighters.

He said it will improve NFA's performance and ability to effectively contain, control and mitigate the effects of fire and other emergencies.

Recruiter fighter Josefa Gadrodro of Tailevu scooped the Best All Round Award and recruit fighter Praneel Bala Naidu of Labasa received Best Aggregate Award.
