Three remand prisoners tried to escape from outside the Suva court house this morning.
Eyewitnesses confirm to Fijivillage that the three told the police officers that they wanted to drink water.
As they were on their way to a nearby tap, they quickly tried to get into a taxi which was parked outside the court house to deliver food.
One remand prisoner got into the front seat of the taxi while the other two got into the boot.
However police officers at the scene acted quickly and caught the three remand prisoners.
Police say that while the three were arrested, they will look into the actions of their officers which led to the incident.
