3 prisoners on the run
Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu said that they have been given 48 hours to establish what happened.
Fijivillage has questioned ACP Tudravu whether they have established if the three remand prisoners were locked up in the cell and how many officers were at the Nadi Police Station when the three men escaped.
ACP Tudravu said this will be known soon.
Police confirm checkpoints have been set up and a team from Suva is now assisting in the search in the Western division.
The three people on the run are 32 year old Daniel Thomas, 39 year old Maleli Vinakasigadua and 26 year old Nacanieli Bakata.
Thomas and Vinakasigadua are from Lautoka while Bakata is from Lami.
The three are commonly known for committing offences such as breaking into cars, home invasion, robbery with violence and pick pocketing.
People are advised to contact the nearest police station if they have any information on the whereabouts of the three.
ACP Tudravu has a message for the three men and people who may harbor them.
Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua said all attempts are now focused on recapturing the three prisoners while equal priority is being given to finding out if Police officers were sleeping on the job resulting in the escape.
The photos of the escapees are on our website fijivillage.com
