Five Nabouwalu villages appeared in the Labasa Magistrate Court this morning, charged with the murder of Josateki Cavu, after a dispute for the chiefly Buli Raviravi title.
Magistrate Penijamini Lomaloma denied bail to the five accused, Rupeni Mocei, Esala Delana, Sakiusa Talemailodoni, Sialeni Temo and Simione Nabeca.
Their lawyer Henry Robinson applied for bail on the reasons that the other 5 accused from the other faction are also remanded in custody and anything can happen inside prison.
However, Labasa prison authorities assured the court that they will ensure that security and safety will be provided.
No plea was taken today and the case has been adjourned to the 11th of October.
