Tulo won gold in three categories: the 150kg snatch, as well as in the 126kg clean and jerk and the 211kg total.
Weightlifting had a good outing with more medals from Seruwaia Malani who settled for two silver medals in the 48kg while fellow lifter, Arieta Mudunagoce collected silver and two bronze in the 53kg category.
Today - a total of 15 gold medals are at stake on the sport which kicks off at 11am and once again, Tulo is expected to dominate.
Meanwhile, Fiji’s sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro will go into the men’s 100 finals today as outright favorite after recording the fastest time in the heats last night.
Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 11.02 seconds and the closest to him was Ruwan Gunasinghe who clocked a time of 11.04 seconds.
Nikotimo Radiva will also run with Tabakaucoro in the semi-finals today at 5.40pm with the final at 8.30pm.
The women’s 100 meters final will start at 8pm where Sisilia Sevula is one of the top favorites after clocking a time of 12.45 seconds while fellow sprinter, Paulini Korowaqa will also be in the final after clocking a time of 12.63 seconds.
Today as well is also a big day for Fiji men’s and women’s basketball team.
Fiji men’s basketball team will play Guam at 4pm while Fiji women’s basketball team will take on New Caledonia at 7pm.
Archery also starts today with three gold medals at stake.
Dameyanti Cook, Robert Elder, George Fong and Kavitesh Sharma who are all medals prospects for Fiji will take part in the four events starting at 9am.
Looking at the medal tally, New Caledonia maintains the first spot with 67 gold, 55 silver and 26 bronze, Tahiti is second with 30 gold, 18 silver and 16 bronze.
Fiji is third with 16 gold, 18 silver and 25 bronze medals.
