Three minor sports in the country received a timely boost after Australia’s Acting High Commissioner Glenn Miles announced a sports development grant of almost $54,500 to three sporting organizations.

The grant is funded by the Australian Sports Outreach Program and will be received by the Fiji Hockey Federation, Fiji Surfing Association and Aussie Rules Football Fiji.

Fiji Hockey Federation has been awarded a grant of $18,267 while the Fiji Surfing Association receives $17,959.

In addition to expanding local participation in Australian Rules Football, AFL Fiji will use its grant of $18,267 to assist in the development of the sport in the country.
