Fiji has 3 confirmed cases of HIV/AIDs among children between the ages of 9 to 19 as of March last year till March this year.
The most common cause of HIV transmission being from mother to child and through mis-use of needles.
Program Manager for HIV/AIDS, Doctor Josaia Samuela said many are not aware of the female condoms present at health centers and clinics around the country as women are now given the choice to protect themselves with the use of female condoms.
Doctor Samuela said people need to take the right precautions and stick to one partner in order to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually Transmitted Infections.
