There are now 27 confirmed cases of H1N1 in Fiji and the Health Ministry reiterated its warning for people to take precautions.
Health Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora said one must take care of themselves really well especially during this cold weather.
The latest victim detected for the virus Pandemic H1N1 2009 is a 9 year old student of Suva.
The student is one of the eight confirmed cases which were part of the 233 samples sent from senitel sites around the country and taken to the Mataika House.
Health Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora said the student has been isolated from members of the family and is being monitored.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Employers Federation said they will do everything possible to ensure that the spread of the Pandemic H1N1 virus is minimized.
When asked whether employers are ready to give extra time off to their employees who have contracted the virus and have finished all their year’s leave and sick leave, president Dickson Seeto said they are ready to assist.
A total of 27 people have been confirmed with Pandemic H1N1.
