Police have questioned and released a 26-year-old farmer who was taken into custody in relation to the death of a 7-year-old boy of Naitasiri over the weekend.
Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri says they are now waiting for the post mortem report of the 7-year-old boy before making a decision on the next step.
The boy died after sustaining injuries while swimming and it is alleged that the 26-year-old farmer threw the victim in the river which resulted him receiving the injuries.
He was transferred to the CWM hospital where he later passed away.
