Twenty five shoe shine boys received bonus saver accounts at Westpac today at the Crime Free Secretariat.
The bank accounts are for the boys to save for their next plan in life with the minimum deposit of $5.00 per individual per day under the scheme.
The bank will also provide home loans, loans for purchase of car, education loans for siblings, for those members who show better cash flow and possess the ability to pay back.
Crime Free Secretariat Inspector Anare Masitabua said that this is one of the great achievements of the Police Force under its people focus objectives and this will eventually help in creating a crime free Suva.
The opening of the accounts is part of the initiatives of the Suva Crime Free Secretariat, Fiji Police Force and the Shoe Shine Boys Association.
