The Traffic Control Unit in the Western Division conducted a weekend operation and a total of 248 drivers were booked for traffic related offences.
Speaking to Village News Divisional Traffic Officer Western Richard Raju said he is surprised with the large number of traffic violations in the Western Division.
He has also called on the public to be careful when they are travelling with their children.
Meanwhile, a 30 year man is dead after the ten wheeler truck he was driving tumbled in Seaqaqa yesterday morning.
Police say it is believed that the driver lost control of the ten wheeler truck at a junction causing the truck to tumble.
The driver died instantly. Police now await a post mortem report.
