A total of 24 traders were taken to task by the Price and Incomes Board with 6 in the Suva and Nausori Area.

The PIB said these traders faced prosecution because they sold price controlled items at excessive prices and even failed to show the correct pricing on items in their shops.

The highest fine, $2000, was imposed on a service station in Nausori.

PIB said that this should be a reminder to all retailers and shop owners that they should always follow regulations.

Of the 24 traders taken to court, 11 were from Lautoka.
