Only 24 teams will take part in the first Fiji Rugby Union Fiji TV series at Lawaqa Park this Saturday.

It has also been confirmed that the Fiji team currently preparing for the first leg of the IRB Sevens Series will not be taking part in this competition.

The coaching staff of Alifereti Dere and Eddy Waqa is working on trying to get the players to be in their best form and they will not be in Lawaqa this weekend.

Last year’s champion Lautoka will have two teams together with Nadroga, Suva, Navosa, Nadi and Ra.

Some of this provincial team will have two to three teams in the first tournament in Sigatoka.

The winner will receive $7,000 and the first match kicks off at 8am Saturday.
