Police have arrested a 24 year old unemployed man from Nadera for allegedly robbing a taxi driver on Friday for more than $1600.
Police confirms the suspect hired the taxi from Suva and upon reaching Davula Road, he dragged the taxi driver out and assaulted him before driving away with the taxi.
The robber took cash, assorted items and a taxi meter all valued at $1600.
Police are urging taxi drivers again to be vigilant especially during night times and has advised not carry large sums of money with them.
