A 23 year old man has lost his life on the road this morning after the car he was travelling in veered off the road in Naria Rakiraki.
Divisional Traffic Officer Western, ASP Richard Raju confirms the deceased and two others were heading towards Volivoli when at about 12.30 this morning, the driver failed to negotiate a bend in Naria and the car went off the road.
The deceased was sitting in the back seat and tried to jump out from the moving vehicle and as a result received severe injuries.
He was taken to the Rakiraki hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver and another passenger received minor injuries.
The post mortem examination of the deceased is expected to be conducted later today.
