A total of 22,218 students at classes 4, 6, and 8 levels have registered to sit for the Fiji Island Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (FILNA) test today.

These FILNA candidates are students of 413 primary schools around the country and the test is designed to measure the performance of students in literacy and numeracy.

Minister of Education Filipe Bole said the assessment is a diagnostic test used to identify students who may need help to improve their literacy skills.

The students who will sit for the FILNA this morning include 9,834 who are in class 4, 9,957 in class 6 and 2,427 in class 8.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education wishes the candidates the best in the FILNA examination.
