There have been a total of 203 confirmed cases of Dengue in the Western Division as of yesterday afternoon.

Sud Divisional Medical Officer, Doctor Tharid Ali has confirmed to Fijivillage news that the number of cases has increased over the week but stresses that they are well equipped to handle the cases as they doctors on standby.

However, Ali adds that as of yesterday afternoon the Ministry of Health has released the total number Nationwide standing at over 300 cases.

Ali stresses that most of the cases have been centered around the Lautoka area and calls on all families to exercise precautionary measures and see a doctor if they experience any symptoms associated with dengue.

Meanwhile, Dhirendra Prasad, Deputy Mayor Nasinu Town Council has revealed that as of Monday next week they will start spraying at around 2pm Muanikoso, Narere areas then later on in the week they will move to Makoi, Nepani, Nadawa, Laucala Beach, Caubati, New Town and Valelevu.
