Two separate fatal accident cases are being investigated by Police with the most recent case in Savusavu.
Savusavu Police say a 58-year-old man is in custody for his alleged involvement in the hit and run accident near Navuniyasawa yesterday.
A 22-year-old man passed away in this accident.
He was found by villagers who later contacted Police.
In a separate case, a 3‑year‑old boy passed away after he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 32 year old service station attendant.
According to Police, the boy was walking along the road with his parents when he suddenly ran across the road.
The victim was later taken to the Taveuni Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect is in custody as investigations continue.
