A twenty one year old unemployed youth of Valelevu escaped jail sentence this morning after he was found guilty of damaging property worth over $800 earlier this month.

The Court heard that the accused Viliame Waqanivere on the 14th of this month was drunk and attacked two employees of Oceanview Hotel in Waimanu Road, Suva.

Magistrate Amarji Mohammed was also informed that Waqanivere got hold of a fire extinguisher and sprayed a whole room before breaking the grills of another flat and damaging other property before fleeing the scene.

The total cost of damage stood at $800.85.

Magistrate Mohammeed told Waqanicere to pay $150 in fine in default of a month and pay for damages in default of two months.
