The 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup was officially opened last night in Christchurch.
An estimated crowd of 10,000 people gathered at North Hagley Oval in the heart of the city to soak up an overwhelming mix of music and dance as Cricket Australia chairman Wally Edwards unveiled the cup, declaring "may the best team win”.
The first game of the tournament is between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at Hagley Oval, in Christchurch at 10am tomorrow while India will take on rivals Pakistan in Adelaide at 1pm on Sunday.
