The Fiji Football Association league competition received a timely boost today with a sponsorship of $150,000.

The sponsorship presentation at the Fiji FA headquarters also served as the launch of the 2012 National Football League season, which will be known as the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League with games beginning at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the son of a former Ba great is ready to follow the footsteps of his father when he makes his debut for Ba in the Pillays Garments Champions league this weekend.

16 year old Junior Narend Rao is the son of Vimal Sami and grandson of late, Meera Sami who passed away few days ago.

Rao's father and grandfather have been great servants of Ba soccer who dedicated whole of their lives to give many victories.

With the passing away of Meera Sami, his grandson, Junior Narend Rao has lot to play for this weekend when he will don the Ba jumper for the first time.

In the Champions league this Friday, Suva will take on Ba at 5pm followed by the Rewa and Labasa match at 7pm.
