About 20,000 new jobs mostly in the tourism sector are expected to be created in the near future.
Fiji Trades and Investment Bureau Chairman, Sir James Ah Koy has confirmed that over 50 new projects are in the pipeline amounting to 6.1 billion dollars.
Ah Koy has also revealed that cabinet, through FTIB, is bringing back the "one stop shop" concept which is a completely new concept in the world where decisions will solely be made by the board members to approve or reject an application for investors. He said ministers will no longer make decisions.
He said an application will be processed within two weeks and new application form for investors has been designed which takes care of all the requirements.
