Close to 2000 athletes from 18 districts will come together at the TFL National Stadium this morning when the 2011 FMF Chow Games kicks-off.
Suva is out to defend their title while the rest of the districts goal is to do better than their previous results.
Teams as far from Kadavu, Lautoka, Nadi, Nadroga/Navosa, Naitasiri and Vanualevu will be out to prove that although they do not enjoy the luxury of facilities that Suva athletes train in they can still cause some upsets.
Fiji Athletics Federation official, Albert Miller said that this year’s competition will be tougher for Suva.
Chow games coordinator, Patrick Bower said around 200 to 250 officials will monitor the games.
The Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will officially open the games at 9 this morning.
