The three most important attributes that you will need to exhibit in order for you to be accepted as a respected member of your profession are courage, honesty and ability.

These were the words of Chief Justice Anthony Gates to the twenty new legal practitioners admitted to the Bar at the Supreme Court this morning.

Justice Gates told the lawyers that they had taken an oath to truly and honestly conduct themselves in the practice as a legal practitioner according to the best of their knowledge and ability.

One of the lawyers admitted was Sangeeta Chand of Lautoka who said she faced financial difficulties, but never gave up.
