Twenty Forensic Officers from Suva are on their way to Malake Landing in Rakiraki where a body of a woman was found wrapped in a sack in a mangrove.
Divisional Crime Officer Western, SP Vijay Singh confirms the body has not been removed from the mangroves as they are waiting for the Police team from Suva to carry out necessary forensic tests. According to Singh a team of Police Officers from Rakiraki were guarding the body last night.
Police are now calling members of the public to come forward and help in identifying the body if any member of their family is missing.
