Police have called on members of the public to be mindful of where they take their morning or evening walks following a case of rape and attempted rape in the Suva area in the past few days.
Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said the same person allegedly attacked two women in two separate incidents and quick action has resulted in the arrest of the 26 year old man.
Sokomuri said the incidents occurred at the Suva Point and at the Nasese seawall area.
Sokomuri said Police are concerned and females need to ensure that they are not walking alone in isolated places.
The accused, 26 year old Vereniki Batikalou appeared in the Suva Magistrates court.
No plea was taken and Batikalou has been remanded in custody.
