The last two finishing teams in the National Football League Super Premier Division this season will automatically be demoted to the Premier Division next year.

This was decided during the Fiji Football Association Council meeting yesterday.

Fiji FA President Dr Shams UD Dean Sahu Khan confirmed the decision which will now see only eight teams feature in the Super Premier Division next year.

The way it looks at the moment on the points table, Tavua and Nasinu will be relegated to the Premier Division next year.

Sahu Khan said they have created three divisions next year which will be the Super Premier, Premier and Senior Division.

Super Premier and Premier will have eight teams while the senior division will accommodate seven.

The Fiji FA President said the promotion regulation playoffs will come into effect next season.

The Premier division winner will face the last place team from the Super Premier division.

Likewise senior division winner and the last place finisher of the Premier Division will face each other.
