2 students taken to hospital after school bus attack
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said they are seriously concerned as the bus carrying primary and secondary school students was attacked by a group of students of a prominent Suva school.
Naisoro said according to eyewitnesses, they have confirmation that an ex-scholar was with the group of students waiting on the roadside when the bus approached them.
Some items were thrown into the bus and Fijivillage has received confirmation that metal pipes were also used to smash the rear glass of the bus.
More than 20 students on the roadside were taken in for questioning while the students in the bus were also taken in for interviews.
Senior police officers visited the two schools early yesterday to speak to the students and their parents.
This is in relation to the brawl in the capital city on Friday afternoon.
Fijivillage has established that the brawl started at Service Street on Friday afternoon and majority of the students were in school uniform.
The brawl then ended up at Sukuna Park.
Fortunately police officers rushed to the scene and took many of the students to Totogo Police Station.
Reports have also emerged that students started targeting any student with a particular school uniform and several innocent students were punched up.
A student was treated at CWM Hospital and sent home after receiving injuries in that incident.
The Principals and Vice Principals of both schools were also called in by the police.
