Referees Jorge Larrionda and Roberto Rosetti will take no further part in the FIFA World Cup following their high profile errors in the second round fixtures.

Larrionda failed to recognise that a shot from Frank Lampard had clearly crossed the line in England's 4 1 defeat at the hands of Germany while Rosetti wrongly awarded a goal to Argentina in their win over Mexico despite the fact that Carlos Tevez was visibly offside.

The two mistakes have led FIFA president Sepp Blatter to apologise to the English and Mexican associations and said it would be nonsense to not re-open the file of technology when the International FA Board meets in July.

Meanwhile, Blatter has warned that France may be banned from international football if its government interferes in the running of the national side.

Blatter said he was sending a clear and clean message to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who criticised the team after a dismal FIFA World Cup campaign.

Sarkozy has pledged to personally lead an investigation into what went wrong.

But Blatter insisted the governing body would oppose "political interference, even if it is at presidential level."

Les Bleus finished bottom of their FIFA World Cup group and were plagued by problems on and off the pitch

Looking at the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup, Brazil will now play Netherlands on Saturday morning at 2am and at 6.30am Uruguay will take on Ghana.

Argentina will play Germany at 2am on Sunday morning and at 6.30am Paraguay will face Spain.
